BLOGGING FRIENDS MARCH 2019 BLOG HOP "APRIL SHOWERS"

Welcome to the March 2019 Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  My name is Tracey and I am from the sunny Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.  Thank you for joining me here.

The theme this month is "April Showers".  I wasn't too sure what "April Showers" entailed so ended up deciding to base my project on a spring theme as I believe the US are now into Spring,  although it is Autumn here for us in Australia.  "April Showers" just made me think of that lovely spring feeling of pretty and florally things.

So here is my card for this hop.

In my recent classes I have been teaching some different types of fancy fold cards.  I chose to do this card as a fancy fold card which I have been wanting to try for some time now and just haven't gotten around to it.  So this blog hop has given me the perfect excuse to create one now.

Although I did look at a few samples on Pinterest (the ones I found with instructions etc were not in English) as well as seeing a card a friend of mine had made to see how the card should look, I did basically just work out all my own measurements.

Here is a photo of the inside of the card with little pockets for tags.  The tags have been decorated on the bottoms with some die cuts the same as the pink border on the front of the card.

For my base card I used Crumb Cake Cardstock.  I cut two pieces 6" x 4" (these are my front covers.  I covered the front covers with some of the gorgeous Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper which is still available in the Annual Catalogue.  The measurements for these pieces are 5 3/4" x 3 3/4".

My inside piece which creates the pockets has also been cut from Crumb Cake Cardstock and measures 28 cm x 10.5 cm.  This piece was then scored every 7 cm (or 7 cm, 14 cm, 21 cm).  I found it too difficult to work this one out in inches.  I have cut both the corners 5 cm from the bottom diagonally to the top fold.

I covered the inside Crumb Cake piece with firstly a layer of Blushing Bride cardstock and then a layer of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Cardstock layer is 6.5 cm x 10 cm and the DSP layer is 6 cm x 9.5 cm.  You will need to trim 2 of each the pieces to fit the corner pieces.

The tags have been created from 2 pieces of Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 5 cm x 10 cm and the tops have been punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Ribbon and twine have been added.

Well Written Framelits Dies

Happy, Friend and the Swirl have all been die cut from Blackberry Bliss cardstock using dies from the Well Written Framelits Dies and Birthday has been stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink using the Well Said stamp set onto White Cardstock, layered onto Blushing Bride Cardstock and adhered to the card between Happy and Friend.  You can purchase these products separately, Well Said Stamp Set RRP $77 and Well Written Framelits Dies RRP $69 or you can purchase as a bundle and save 10% for the RRP $132.25.

Well Said Stamp Set

I created a flower using Blushing Bride Cardstock with the Four Petal Flower Punch and finishing off with a Gold Faceted Gem for the centre.  The flower and swirl have then been adhered to the card (as shown in the photo).

To decorate the front of the card I die cut a border from Blushing Bride cardstock with the Delicate Lace Edgelits dies and adhered to the left side of the card front.  A simple strip of Blackerry Bliss Cardsock as then adhered beside the die cut strip.  A pearlised doily was added to the centre of card.  Three flowers (2 Blushing Bride and 1 Blackberry Bliss) were created with the Four Petal Flower Punch and again completed with a Gold Faceted Gem in the centres and then adhered to the card.  Some swirls were cut from Blackberry Bliss and also adhered.  The "For You" sentiment is from the Well Said stamp set and has been stamped in Blackberry Bliss and hand cut into a banner and added to the centre between the flowers with dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today and thank you for visiting.  Please continue on through the hop to see all the wonderful projects which have been created by some very talented ladies and gents.
