TEAM GET TOGETHER PROJECT

On the weekend we had a great team get together where we did lots of stamping, chatting and eating.

It was a really fun day and we created a couple of projects, this one being a card that I created using recycled items.

You will see that I have made use of the brown packing paper we all receive in our Stampin'Up! orders.  The brown paper has been ripped, stamped and run through the hexagon embossing folder to give an interesting background.  The flower has also been created using the brown packing paper.

I have also used the cardboard backing off some small notebooks that I used for another project and as I didn't need the backings I was going to discard them.  Decided instead to make use of them by using a crayon emboss resist technique with the hexagon embossing folder.

SALE-A-BRATION IS HERE

Yay.  Sale-a-Bration is here and in full swing.

Here are a couple of cards that have been created with the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and Ribbon & Button Pack.

This first card we created in our last team meeting and we also used the Pretty Petites Stamp Set and the very cute Petite Curly Label punch.

The colours in the Sycamore Street papers are just divine as well as the matching ribbons (Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo and Pool Party) and buttons (Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango).

My next card I created for a Valentine's Day Card  which is different from your usual red or pink cards.  Island Indigo is one of my favourite colours so I loved this colour combination.  I didn't have anything in Tangerine Tango so substituted Calypso Coral which matched in just nicely.

Don't forget you can earn a FREE Sale-a-Bration products during February through to 22 March for every order placed for $100.

Supplies used:

Card 1:  Cardstock - Sahara Sand, Whisper White, FREE Sycamore Street DSP, Stamp Sets - FREE Pretty Petites, Inkpads - Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Punches - Curly Label, FREE Petite Curly Label, FREE Sycamore Street Ribbon

Card 2:  Cardstock - Island Indigo, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, FREE Sycamore Street DSP, Stamp Sets - Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Scalloped Heart of Hearts and Fashionable Hearts Embosslits, Punches - Modern Label, Word Window, FREE Sycamore Street Ribbon, Pearl

Finishing Some Unfinished Projects

I had a very productive day today just spending time finishing off some of the projects which we started at the Brisbane Heartfelt Event in November.

It was just nice to be able to create something non Christmas and to have all the instructions to follow so that there was not a lot of thinking involved.

However, I must have relaxed a bit too much as one of the projects needed a vellum envelope to be created for the cards - but as I don't own the Scoring Tool (yet) - still on my wish list - I didn't quite get my dimensions correct - so no envelope for me.  They still look cute tied up with the Baker's Twine though.

So here are the finished projects.  I am loving the Clockworks Stamp Set and the gorgeous colour combination chosen by Stampin'Up! of Basic Grey, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, More Mustard, Gumball Green, Very Vanilla.

There were four projects included.  These being:

6" x 6" Scrapbook Layout
"One in a Million" Notebook
Clockworks Note Cards (Should have had a vellum envelope)
Two Tags Box with Notecards

JUST ADD INK CHALLENGE - JAI 121 JUST ADD PEARLS

I decided to have a go at this week's challenge at Just Add Ink.  Their challenge was inspired by the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and something that she might wear - pearls.  So we had to create a project with pearls and this is what I decided on.

I used a stamp set which my Mum just got in her latest stamp club order (it is so great having a crafty Mum and we share) and decided to go with yellow as the colour of my flowers as I have seen the Queen wear many outfits that have been yellow.

I have added numerous pearls to the centres of my flowers and a couple of pearls to my sentiment tag.

I created the tag for the sentiment by using my Decorative Label punch and then re-punching a couple of times to get a new smaller label.  Love that we can use our punches in so many different ways.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Whisper White, Old Olive, Daffodil Yellow, Inkpads - Daffodil Yellow, Old Olive, Soft Suede for sponging and centres of flowers,  Punches - Scallop Trim Corner and Scallop Trim Border, Decorative Label, Pearls

Instructions for How I created the Flowers

This is such a pretty stamp set and as I had never used this set before I was unsure of the best way to stamp the images so I had to do a bit of experimenting first to see what worked and looked best to me.  So, here is what I did:

  1. Stamped the stem in Old Olive on my white base cardstock.
  2. Stamped the flower heads in Daffodil Yellow at the top of the stems on the white base cardstock.
  3. Stamped the more solid flower heads twice in Daffodil Yellow on a separate piece of cardstock (I actually inked up my stamp, stamped off once and then stamped my image on the white so that the image was lighter).
  4. Stamped the more detailed flower head in Daffodil Yellow over the top of the more solid flower heads you have already stamped (Don't stamp off this time as you want the outlines to come through more solidly).
  5. Stamped the centre with Soft Suede by inking up and stamping off first and then stamping over the top of the flower (Gives it a softer look).
  6. I then cut both my flower heads out and pop dotted them over the top of the flower heads I had stamped on top of the stems.
  7. Lastly I added the pearls to the centre of the flowers.
Hope this makes some sense to you all and is helpful for using this stamp set.

Close Up of the Cards in the Previous Post

Now that I have been able to wrestle the cards away from Annabell here is a close up of the two cards.

This first card is a case of any number of cards I have seen in this style recently.  Just love that Twitterpated DSP.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Island Indigo, Whisper White, Pool Party, Twitterpated DSP, Punches - Boho Blossoms, Blossom and Word Window, Under the Big Top Stamp Set (just inked up the words Thinking of You), Pearls

This second card is one of the cards we created in our April Fancy Folds Class.  It looks very involved, but it is actually a reasonably easy card to create.

As an extra we also punched out three Modern Labels and mounted them on top of the punched Blossom adding an extra petal layer (another technique I have seen surfing the web).

We also cut out some of the flowers from the DSP and adhered to the vintage tag.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Riding Hood Red, Twitterpated DSP, Punches - Blossom, Modern Label, Circles, Jewellery Tag, Vintage Tags, Hemp Twine, "Hello" stamp from Pennant Parade Stamp Set, Seam Binding Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze

Stampers 6 Club

This month in Stamp Club we were able to use some of the beautiful new products from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

Our first card was inspired by a card we had created in our last team meeting.  The bottom card is the one we created in our team meeting and the top one is the one created at stamp club.

Can you spot the differences?

As I did not have the Apothecary Art stamp set I decided to show the girls that you can still create a beautiful card by substituting what stamp sets you do have.  In this case we used the Creative Elements set to get the very cute flourish in the background.

We also created a mat for the framelit which is the black border around the small framelit piece.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Whisper White, Basic Black, Riding Hood Read, DSP - Twitterpated, Labels Collection Framelits, Inkpads - Black and Riding Hood Red, Stamp Sets - Creative Elements, On Your Birthday, Itty Bits Shapes Punch Rhinestones

Our second card was created using the inking and tapping technique which was highlighted in our latest Stampin'Up! Demonstrator Magazine.  Thought we would give it a try and this is how the card turned out.  Everyone was very impressed with how easy it was to create such a stunning background.

Again we used lots of supplies from the new catalogue - isn't the pleated ribbon just gorgeous.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Inkpads - Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Stamp Set - Parlor Prints Background Stamp and Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Punches - Blossom, Boho Blossoms, Word Window and Modern Label, Labels Collection Framelits, Blushing Bride pleated satin ribbon, Embossing Folders - Stripes and Square Lattice, Rhinestones, Twitterpated Designer Buttons

Simple and Easy Cards

I would like to share with you a couple more cards that I have just created.  I will be selling these at a craft market that I am attending next month.

They are both very simple designs but look really great (even better in real life).

My first card was created using the very pretty Summer Solstice stamp set and I finally used some of my beautiful Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper.

My second card was created using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  I just love those butterflies.  Also great for using up all those smaller scrap pieces of cardstock and DSP we all have lying around.  As you can see I have made them in two different colours.

First Card Supplies Used - Cardstock - Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Inkpads - Melon Mambo, Old Olive, DSP - Flirtatious Specialty, Stamp Sets - Summer Solstice and Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Punches - Dotted Scallop Ribbon, Modern Label, Word Window, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, gemstones

Second Card Supplies Used - Cardstock - Confetti White and Poppy Parade/Lucky Limeade, DSP - Everyday Enchantment (Sale-a-Bration). Stamp Set - Happiest Birthday Wishes (Hostess Set), Inkpads - Poppy Parade/Lucky Limeade, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, gemstones

JAI109 Challenge - Just Add Beaches

Here is the card I have created for the latest Just Add Ink Challenge.  The theme this week was "Just Add Beaches".

I decided to use the "Seaworthy" stamp set seeing as it contains the surfer image and that is definitely a beaches theme.

I have been creating a lot of simple cards this week and decided to stay with the same idea.  Colours came about because I used some of the scrap cardstock lying on my desk at the time.  To add a bit of interest I have distressed and inked the edges of the stamped image piece and also added a couple of torn layers.

This is the first time I have used this stamp set and I think it has made a nice male card or would be good if you have a surfer in your family.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Whisper White,  Night of Navy and Real Red, Stamp Set - Seaworthy and On Your Birthday, Inkpads - Night of Navy and Not Quite Navy for sponging, Small Oval Punch, Brads, Bakers Twine

Beautiful Card I Have Cased

I was surfing the internet yesterday afternoon looking for some inspiration for some very simple but stunning card ideas and came across this gorgeous design from Stamp and Scrap with Maureen.  This was the original version which I fell in love with.

So this morning I have cased this beautiful card changing the colours from Pool Party and White to Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla.

Just gorgeous and I hope the recipient loves it as much as I do.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Very Vanilla and Poppy Parade, Inkpads - Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake, Stamp Sets - Fresh Vintage (SAB Set) and Sincere Salutations, Ribbon - Poppy Parade, Punches - Scallop Oval and Large Oval

Pizza Box with Gift Cards

I decided to have a go at creating one of those cute little pizza boxes and some little notecards to go inside.

I used the Fabulous Florets stamp set and the Beyond the Garden DSP which made it really easy to co-ordinate everything and this stamp set is so easy to use.

I decorated the top of the box with one of my very own hand crocheted flowers.

You can't see in the photos very well but I used all the gorgeous bright colours - Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Confetti White, Beyond the Garden DSP, Inkpads - Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Stamp Set - Fabulous Florets, Punches - Scallop Trim Border, Lace Ribbon Border and Bird Builder, Seam Binding and Pearls

I will be sad when this stamp set and DSP retire at the end of the Summer Mini as it has become quite a favourite of mine.  Here's hoping Fabulous Florets makes it into the new catalogue in September.

I also created a matching (although odd shaped) pizza box in which you can keep your small tissue packs.  I thought these turned out really cute.

Mojo Monday Challenge 231

Here is the card I have created for Mojo Monday 231 Challenge.  Again I have used the Sale-a-Bration DSP Everyday Enchantment - I just love this paper.   I created the scallops on my circle by punching out a strip of paper with the Scallop Trim Border Punch, running this through the crimper and then attaching to the edge of my circle.  This gives a beautiful edging to the circle.  I have created the flowers using both the small scallop punch and small circles.

Male Card

I would like to share with you today another one of the male cards we created in card class today.

I decided to use the recent sketch from Mojo Monday as I really liked the way my previous card all came together so nicely.

I also wanted to show that the Elementary Elegance stamp set could also be used for a male card.  So I  changed the colours and the stamp set and this is what I ended up with.

Supplies used:  Elementary Elegance Stamp Set, Not Quite Navy, River Rock and Soft Suede Cardstock, Well Worn DSP, Soft Suede Inkpad, Bakers Twine, Top Note Die, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Curly Label Punch (Happy Birthday stamped on Confetti White and sponged all over).

FEBRUARY CARD CLASS

Just a reminder that February's card class will be here soon.  Class is being held on Thursday 23rd February.  Please see class page for further details or you can also check out my Stampin'Up! Website.

We will be creating some cards for the males in our life and here is a sneak peak of one of the cards we will be creating.  I will keep the others a surprise.

This card is an Easel Card and has been created using one of the new stamp sets in the Summer Mini Catalogue together with some of the new twine.

I find male cards the hardest to create so I was very happy when Stampin'Up! brought out this stamp set.

A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY CARD

I thought I would show you today a card I made last week for a very dear friend for her 50th birthday.  We have known each other since primary school and so I really wanted to make her a very special card to celebrate her day.  As she seems to love black I decided to use some of the Love Letters DSP which unfortunately is no longer available - this was one of my favourites.

I am really into making my own flowers at the moment so I created the flowers on the front of the card with the Fun Flowers Die (the large flower) and

the smaller flower using the Scallop Circle punch.  Here is a closer view of the flowers.

I am really happy with the way this card turned out and my friend really loved it.
