SEA OF TEXTURES BIRTHDAY CARD

I have been creating some male themed cards for an order this week.  Of course, I had to use the Sea of Textures for at least one of these cards as it is one of my all time favourite sets.

Above is a photo of the card standing up.  I have created the card as a Z Fold so that all the interesting bits and pieces I have stamped to create an underwater scene.

Between the Designer Series Paper, Stamp Set and Co-ordinating dies it makes creating a male themed card that much easier.  Love how Stampin'Up! has everything co-ordinating.

Below is a view of the card completely open and lying on a flat surface.  I chose to use the colours that co-ordinate with the DSP - being Crumb Cake, Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and some Sahara Sand.

My base card is Fresh Fig.  The Z part of the card is also Fresh Fig.  The background of the card is from the DSP and for the Z part I have also used some of the DSP and torn it to give it the look of a sandy bottom.

And here are a few more closeup views of the card.

You can also see that I have added some extra images (fish, rope, anchor, Ahoy There banner).

These stamps have come from the now retired Seaside Shore stamp set.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is also from another retired stamp set Guy Greetings.

BEST DAD - CLASSIC GARAGE SUITE

Today's card is from the series of cards I created with the Classic Garage Suite of products from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue.

This card has been created for the crafter that wants a little bit extra than just stamping.  This card is a step up from the Beginner Card I shared a couple of days ago.

My card base is Basic Black and I have used one of the sheets of paper from the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper.  On this piece of DSP I have randomly stamped all over in Basic Gray Ink the smudge stamp from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set.  Also a car has been die cut from the DSP using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies (awesome that I could use a die to cut this car).

The following pieces have been die cut using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies - large cog from Silver Foil Sheet, small cogs and label from Basic Black cardstock.

The Best Dad stamp has been stamped in Pumpkin Pie on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, die cut and adhered to the label.

The card has been completed by adhering the cogs flat to the card.  The car and the sentiment have been adhered with dimensionals and some Silver Thread has been added beneath the car.

NEW LOOK BLOG

Decided it was time to change the look of my blog.  I was getting a little sick of the pink background and white writing as well as the strange borders I managed to have around most of my photos.

Amazing what a little fiddling around can reveal.

Hope you like the new, and hopefully cleaner look.  Still a work in progress, so stay tuned.

SIMPLE MALE CARD

The card I am sharing today is one of the cards I created and shared with you in my previous post on the Classic Garage Suite.

This project is very simple and very easy for a beginner stamper.

I have used the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set (RRP $37) available in the Occasions Catalogue to create this project.  There is also a co-ordinating Garage Gears Thinlets Dies (RRP $57). You can also purchase these products as a bundle and save 10% (RRP $84.50).

My base card is the usual size in Whisper White.  Using Black Memento Ink I have stamped the car and the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3 1/2" x 2 3/4".  I have then layered the stamped piece onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock measuring 3 3/4" x 3".

The completed stamped piece has then been adhered to the middle of the base card with dimensionals.

Here is a list of the very simple supplies used for this project.

Over the next few days I will share with you the details of each of these cards.

Will be back soon.

SIMPLE BIRTHDAY CARD

Today I am sharing a super simple card created with the really cute Hello Cupcake stamp set which is one of the Sale-a-Bration Stamp Sets you can receive free for placing a $90 order during Sale-a-Bration.

I created this card as part of the Stampin'Up! #simplestamping challenge for February.

I have simply taken one of our notecards and stamped all of the images directly onto the front of my card.

The colours I have used are Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Gorgeous Grape.

One birthday card created in no time at all.

JUST ADD INK CHALLENGE #444

Today's project is a card I created for this week's Just Add Ink Challenge #444.

A fun colour challenge this week.  We have been given 2 colours to use - Poppy Parade and Powder Pink and we have to choose a third colour to add.  We can also use black or white.

I chose to use Old Olive for my third colour as well as Whisper White for my stamping.  Here is my card:

Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set
Eclectic Layers Thinlits
I just didn't know which stamp set to use for this project.  Because of the colours of Poppy Parade and Powder Pink (not my usual choice of colours to put together) I just couldn't make up my mind.  In the end I ended up choosing to use one of my favourite stamp sets - Oh So Eclectic and the co-ordinating Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies.

My card base is Powder Pink.  The Whisper White layer has been die cut and some Poppy Parade cardstock adhered to the back of the cutout.  This whole piece has then been adhered to the base card.

Using most of the stamps and dies in this co-ordinating set I have stamped flowers in Powder Pink.  The flower overlays have been die cut in Poppy Parade and adhered over the stamped images.

Leaves have been stamped in Old Olive onto the base card and also die cut from Old Olive cardstock.

All pieces have then been layered overlapping each other and adhered with dimensionals.

A little Old Olive Ribbon Bow has been added as well.

To finish off the card I die cut a label, from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies and stamped Best Wishes from the Petal Palette Stamp Set in Poppy Parade Ink and adhered to the bottom of the card with dimensionals.

I really enjoyed putting these colours together.   A little bit out of my comfort zone but I was really pleased with the results.
